family

Hello ladies (and gents?) I am amazed at how long it's been since I've written. It's been a mostly downward roller coaster that I can't seem to get off. I really didn't want to move away from Washington. I didn't even get to see Seattle. But I am very grateful I saw Astoria, Cannon Beach and Portland (which I am all in love with).
The trip from Washington to Southern California was a crazy stressful adventure. In short our (new used) car broke down in Oregon and we had to be driven to Yreka, CA to stay at a motel while waiting for news on how the hell we were going to make it home. All I was worried about was Alice but she was a trooper! Now the car thing has been incredibly complicated and bankruptcy is involved. Life, I guess.

The highlight of coming back though was going to Knott's Scary Farm (theme park full of scary mazes) and was honored to go with one of my besties, Dana... who I wish lived closer =(. I got to see Elvira in person and went to the best Halloween/Birthday party ever. And since being in California that's been my only highlight... but I'm not complaining! Most of my photos are on my blog, in the instagram section on the top right ;p

This Christmas I finally got to meet my new little cousins! Here is me and my Vietnamese cousin Han and she is the sweetest and most adorable girl ever. I wanted to keep her, and we're also birthday buddies! I am seriously planning on visiting Asia this Christmas to see my family.

I also got to hang out with my cousins Prometheus and Gaia. They are just so sweet and adorable! I am lucky to have such lovely family, I only wish I could see more of them.

Now in 2014 it hasn't been the greatest, but I'm getting along. My birthday was nearly nothing but hopefully that will be fixed in a couple weeks when we go to the Date Festival (best carnival in SoCal) and date as in the fruit, but Thomas and I try to go every year on a date anyway :) Gah, I can't wait! Looking forward to fun stuff is what helps keep me going.

I am going to start trying to write at least once a week, not much is going on with me though, but I will have stuff and photos to post gosh dangit! Please stick around and think lovely thoughts! :)

  1. I wish you lived closer too! Palm Springs might as well be Washington. I really want to see Seattle. Maybe we can plan a trip together eventually? Going alone would be really lame. I'm really sorry you're unhappy being back in California. I somehow thought it would be better somehow, but I can't blame you for preferring the Washington surroundings.

Chin up, buttercup. I keep saying as long as I'm not dead I'm still trying, and I should think the same applies to you. So until that final day comes, there's always the opportunity for things to get better.

Remember that I'm always here, no matter how long it's been since the last time we spoke.

I'm so glad I was able to have you over for my birthday. It really as one of the bests I've ever had! Even though I know I was an absolute stress monster. It was worth it. :)

I've been making it a point to blog recently as well, particularly on specific days, as way to discipline myself, however minutely, to something that's non-work related. I think it'll be good for you as well.

Also, I started taking a B vitamin called Niacin. It's supposed to help with depression, along with a better diet. I've only been on it for two days now, so I'm unsure of the effects, but maybe you should look into it? I'm taking 300mg/day, and I was going to up it in a week depending on if I feel anything or not. If you decide to consider it, get the "No Flush" kind. I'm using the Whole Foods brand, but if you don't have access to one, I'm sure there are other good brands as well. If you want to talk about it, message me sometime. I don't know a lot about it, but my mom and I have been doing some research.

  3. Cars break down when you least expect them to right? Good thing you guys got home safe. Having your car checked up before going on a trip is really a good thing in order to lessen the chances of a break down.
